Solar Energy

Solar energy is very popular because it is easy to harness and readily available just about everywhere. One of the best things about it is that it can be used for many different purposes. Turning it into electricity with the use of solar panels is the most famous way, but it is not the only way.

For quite a while people have been using solar energy to heat water. Solar water heaters are often used to heat pools in the summertime. This is done by laying black pipe over a large surface like the house’s roof and allowing the sun to heat the water in the pipe.

Another use of solar energy that has been used for a long time is the solar oven. Solar ovens catch the sun’s heat and then keep it inside. They can be used to cook all kinds of food. They take many hours to do this, but it uses no electricity.
