| Cli-Mit Project Risk Analyzer Many companies are beginning to more actively consider the purchase of GHG credits. Unless purchasing completely guaranteed reductions from a credit-worthy company, however, those individuals charged with the credit procurement process commonly face a number of challenges, including: Deciding on the price they're willing to pay; Convincing internal financial managers that the purchase meets corporate risk and financial requirements. The Cli-Mit Project Risk Analyzer© was designed to address this need. The Tool walks users through the process of assigning risk factors to a number of conventional and GHG risks, forcing the user to explicitly consider them. Taking project economics into account, as well as these risk factors, the Tool calculates the "expected real cost" of the credit. In addition to simply calculating a single point estimate, the Tool calculates the likely probability distribution of costs for credits from the project. The end result of this sophisticated risk assessment allows a company to decide its willingness to pay, and allows the case to be convincingly made to the company's financial decisionmakers that the project has been carefully evaluated. The Cli-Mit Project Risk Analyzer© is available for purchase or through a consulting support package focused on project risk assessment and portfolio development. |
