The natural resource for climate change mitigation services

Research Intern Opportunity (UNPAID)

Job Description:

We are looking for 1-2 part-time interns for Fall 2007. This internship provides students or others with an excellent opportunity to begin working in environmental policy. It allows for hands-on access to the most recent data and developments in climate change policy and mitigation strategies, renewable energy resources, emissions trading, and related fields at the local, national, and international levels. Interns help to manage information and organize data for use by the staff. In addition, opportunities exist for working on independent projects and specialized projects such as working on the company’s website. Background and familiarity with environmental policy, energy issues, and/or international policy are preferred, although interns sometimes use the internship opportunity to gain initial experience in these areas.

Interns may commit to as little as 6-8 hours a week. This is an unpaid internship; if a student wishes to receive academic credit, we are happy to work with the student to achieve this goal. Interns are not TC+ES employees and are not entitled to any employee benefits, and we can provide no guarantee of eventual employment. Interns are expected to adhere to appropriate rules of conduct and behavior and are expected to sign nondisclosure agreements upon the commencement of their internship.

Intern responsibilities include:

Library research on specific topics: pulling together information on a particular topic that may be the subject of a proposal, client deliverable, or our publication.

Information management: extensive Internet review and research. May include library visits as appropriate to find newsletters and other relevant materials.

Data entry: entry of bibliographic materials in computer database.
